Farmers market July 31 at the Homestead
The market on July 31, open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, will make the bounty of the season available to shoppers at the Stahl-Conrad Homestead, 9724 W. Forest Home Ave. You are also invited to go inside the house where a display of fossils illustrates the Niagara Escarpment, a gigantic geologic formation that extends from the Milwaukee area across northern Michigan to northeastern Canada.
Outside, look for tomatoes, corn, onions, eggplant, and more--all at bargain prices. In addition to produce, you'll find decorative items by Hummer Hill Wood Crafts, coffee by Friends of the Hales Corners Pool, and baked goods by Lopez Bakery and Sweet Somethings.
Publications and ornaments by the Hales Corners Historical Society will be there as well as a small array of "high end" items donated to the Homestead's rummage sale.
