The Franklin co-op gymnastics team's season-long winning streak came to an end at a most inopportune time, thanks to a familiar foe.
The Franklin Combined gymnastics team is way ahead of schedule. The team, made up of gymnasts from Franklin, Muskego, Oak Creek and Whitnall high schools, finished second at the Division 1 state team meet last year after making a late run through big February meets and sectionals.

Brookfield Central earned a 73-65 victory over host Whitnall on March 6 in a regional final.
The top wrestlers in the state took to mats during the first day of the WIAA State Tournament in Madison on Feb. 25.
The Franklin co-op gymnastics team, which includes members from Muskego, Oak Creek, Franklin and Whitnall high schools, won the Southeast/Classic 8 conference meet at Waukesha West High School on Feb. 18. The co-op posted a meet-best 143.925 to Kenosha’s runner-up effort of 141.425 and Arrowhead’s 141.375.
Greenfield High School hosted the Woodland Conference swim meet in its new pool Feb. 6. Shorewood was first with 474 points.
