Oak Creek — Police are investigating a burglary that took place at a Faith Baptist Church and Badger State Baptist School, 8519 S. 13th St., at the end of June.

According to the police report released this week:

Someone apparently entered Faith Baptist Church and Badger State Baptist School through an unlocked church door between 8:30 p.m. June 29 and 7:15 a.m. June 30.

A bookstore cash register containing between $150 and $200 and a money box containing about $680 were taken. The perpetrator also entered the main office and stole a portfolio containing $200, along with several checks for $50 each that were made out to the school for deposit.

Two wood doors and a door frame were minorly damaged during the burglary.

Canine officer Bronco searched the field and woods around the church to find any evidence left behind, but nothing was found.
