Hales Corners police Sgt. Brent Kroll has been awarded the William H. Spurgeon III award from the Boy Scouts of America.
The award recognizes people and organizations contributing significant leadership to the scouts' exploring program. Since 2002, Kroll has been in charge of the Hales Corners Police Explorers, a branch of the Boy Scouts of America organization for people age 14 to 21.
Participants learn about law enforcement and assess it as a possible career choice. Police Explorers also assist officers with traffic control at special events and parades.
Kroll has been with the Hales Corners Police Department since 1994 and in charge of the Hales Corners Police Explorers since 2002.
