Heat wave means record numbers at pool
The 90-degree heat last week led to record-breaking attendance at the Hales Corners Pool.
A total of 526 people jumped into the water on Wednesday, an all-time high in the facility's 41-year history, said Don Schwartz, president of the Friends of Hales Corners Pool.
The crowds were large throughout the week. With temperatures in the 90s, attendance at the pool was near or above 400 people each day, Schwartz said.
The big crowds combined with strong sales of season passes have contributed to a good start to the pool's season, which began June 13.
"We've been very pleased so far with how things are going," Schwartz said.
