Greenfield — Nine full-time-equivalent Whitnall School District staff positions would be cut under administrators' plan to make up for a budget deficit expected to be at least $1 million.

Greenfield — The Whitnall School Board on Monday night soundly rejected a proposal to reconfigure the district's elementary schools and will instead look elsewhere for budget cuts in the neighborhood of $1 million to $3 million.

Academic support centers are one of several solutions that high schools have come up with to provide students with more academic help during the school day, as opposed to trying to compete with work, sports and other activities that commonly lure teenagers outside of the school hours.(3)

A former Whitnall High School student accused of coercing girls into sending him nude photos of themselves was sentenced Wednesday to spend at least one year at a detention facility.
