Samantha Marus of Greendale earned her bachelor's degree in psychology, cum laude, from Carthage College in Kenosha in December.

The following students made the fall semester honors lists at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point: from Franklin, Taylor Atkinson, Justin Flasch and Hans Schmidt; from Greendale, Zachary Beard, Megan Briskie, Joel Brown, Travis Kahl, Kirsten Voss and Ameara Wahhab; from Hales Corners, Kristen Forseth and Chelsey Marcelini; and from Oak Creek, Jessica Breen, Margaret Cartwright, Joshua Chang, Jenna Crayton, Caitlin Lindsay, Jamie Nichol and Sallyann Siira.

Kwame Collins of Franklin made the fall semester dean's list at Augsburg College in Minneapolis.

SCHOOLSCENE

Leah Jenk, a senior at Whitnall High School, was selected as the Student of the Year for the Whitnall School District by the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce. Leah was recognized for her academic excellence, leadership, and contributions to both fellow students and the community.

Army Pvt. Braden R. Hill has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Hill is the son of Ann Tyler of Hales Corners and Bradley Hill of Marion, Ill. He is a 2012 graduate of Marion High School.

Army Pvt. Alexander J. Unger has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. Unger is the son of John and Elaine Unger of Greendale. He is a 2011 graduate of Greendale High School.
