Alyssa Budzisz of Franklin, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, attended the Phi Beta Lambda state conference, where she won Who's Who in PBL award and took first in information management. She will attend the national conference in Orlando, Fla., this summer. She was also elected state secretary for Phi Beta Lambda for the 2011-12 academic year.

SCHOOLSCENE

Evan Siira, a seventh-grade student at St. Matthew School in Oak Creek, placed fourth overall in the state Geography Bee in Madison on April 1. This event was sponsored by the National Geographic Society and Google. Statewide, 535 schools held school bees, the winners of which took a written test, and the top 100 scorers were invited to compete in Madison.
