Disabled troops facing eviction need your help this Memorial Day

Help disabled heroes this Memorial Day - Donate Today Thanks to generous Coalition supporters, retired Army Specialist Hugo Gonzalez, his wife Any and their little girls are going to have a happy Memorial Day. At least no one is trying to kick them out of their house anymore!

Please consider rescuing another wounded hero with emergency financial aid this Memorial Day.

Hugo was blinded and brain damaged when he was ambushed by terrorists overseas. Once Hugo left the hospital, he fell behind on his mortgage payment. Worried by the foreclosure letters, he called the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes out of desperation.

Faithful friends like you helped him get caught up on his house payments and avoid a foreclosure, and Hugo says he will "always be grateful for that."

So thank you again for all you've done for Hugo and his family by supporting the Coalition, [first].

You can see Hugo and Any with their adorable girls right here.

Memorial Day is almost here, so it's time for our 2014 Memorial Day Emergency Relief Drive. Can I count on you to help another severely disabled hero desperate to avoid an eviction, utility cutoff or other financial hardship?

I'm retired Major General John K. Singlaub, and I'm spearheading this effort. The goal of our 2014 Memorial Day Emergency Relief Drive is to rescue 250 disabled - and desperate - military heroes like Hugo. We home to raise $375,000 to help another 250 wounded warriors who need food and clothes for their children or are facing an eviction, foreclosure, utility cutoff or other crisis. And I hope you'll do your part, just like you've done in the past.

Here's another thing I want you to know about Hugo. Despite his awful wounds - totally blinded in one eye . . . partly blinded in another . . . suffering from brain damage and PTSD - he's not bitter at all.

While attending our Road to Recovery Conference with his wife and little girls, Hugo told us, "I still have the possibility of getting to see my babies smiling with my peripheral vision, and I'm very grateful to the Lord for that."

Your willingness to help is making a real difference, not just to Hugo and Any and their little girls, but to others I don't have room to mention in this short
e-mail.

By the way -- last year we were able to rush emergency relief to every wounded hero who requested it, thanks to faithful friends like you. I'm hoping and praying we can do that again this Memorial Day.

Remember even a small gift from you can make a big difference to a wounded hero who is unable to feed his children or is days away from losing his home.

Serving those who served,

Major General John K. Singlaub

P.S. Hugo Gonzalez and his wife are lucky to have faithful friends like you. Otherwise they may have been thrown out into the street with their little girls.

Now it's those other military families I'm concerned about. We receive calls nearly every day from severely disabled troops struggling to provide for their families. If you can help one of them as well I'd be deeply grateful. I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and of course I'll update you on how we're doing!
