Here’s my lovely wife, Jennifer with this week’s main blog:
For several years now, I’ve blogged about the Puppy Bowl as my favorite “sporting event” of the year. Loyal readers know that I’m not a football fan at all with the one exception being the Fighting Irish. I don’t even get into the non-sporting aspects of the Super Bowl. I don’t find the half-time entertainment to be remotely entertaining. I manage to discover one or two commercials that captivate me; I mentioned the Cheerios ad on another blog and Budweiser does a great job again:
For me, the Super Bowl is just another football game not worth watching - only with more pomp & circumstance. Naturally I’ll be watching what I consider a far better lineup, cuter players, a better ref and yes, even better half time show. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl promises some special things.
It’s heartwarming knowing that these darling pups will find forever homes through this event. Pedigree Dog Food has done so much for their adoption drive, and they have an incredible amount of success stories. That makes Puppy Bowl X far more rewarding in my eyes than anything played in New Jersey.
By the way in case you missed my Culinary Yes Yes #63, there’s an important “bonus” for dog lovers.
