Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.
Sometimes, little girls look cute in a slightly “older” look. For example, it cracks me up when Kyla grabs her Disney Princess handbag and dons her strand of pretend pearls when we go shopping. I call her my “Little Laura Petrie.” But by and large, I dress her for her age. She’ll have plenty of time to wear grown-up clothes. Namely, when she is a GROWN UP.
I just went to Kohls.com to see if they have their holiday dresses lined up. They usually have the best selection of Santa-style dresses. Kyla just loves that look every year for her Christmas finery. I was happy to see that once again, they offer a charming assortment of red velvet dresses trimmed with white fur at the cuffs and hem.
What I was NOT PLEASED AT ALL TO SEE was an item tagged “Tiered Cocktail Dress.” HUH??? Since when has the four-to-six-year-old set needed cocktail clothing? The dress itself, while nothing I’d choose for Kyla no matter what it was called, wasn’t offensive or provocative a la Jon Benet.
But c’mon Kohl’s. Whoever is doing your marketing for little girls’ clothing needs to be reminded that cocktail parties and suitable attire are for the OVER-21 crowd. Sheesh.
