Jennifer is a one in a million stay-at-home mom. (More like one OF a million stay at home moms!) She graduated from a liberal arts college but there is nothing liberal OR artsy about her. She is married to Kevin Fischer of This Just In, and together they have a beautiful young daughter Kyla Audrey. In no particular order she loves dogs, wine, a good bargain, her family, pizza, and entertaining. Follow her blog of all things miscellaneous including but not limited to cooking and baking, entertaining and party planning, being a mommy, and homekeeping.
A little over a year ago, I contemplated starting my own blog on FranklinNOW. My hesitations: Would I have enough to write about? Would I have the time to write about it? Would anyone read it?
Kevin and my close friends encouraged me personally. Mom bloggers everywhere tell others, “go for it.” Many of those moms who are now making a living blogging started out just like I did and for the same reasons I did… they had something to say; they wanted to share ideas and topics with others.
There have been many times I wonder how these professional mom bloggers do it. How can they meet the demands of their own family life AND give us recipes, tell us about their kids and husbands, entertain, and make time for themselves? I still don’t have the answer to that. Some days it’s a monumental accomplishment when I can post a few paragraphs and a link! Hats off to them for juggling multiple demands like so many women do.
I’ve truly enjoyed this past year on FranklinNOW. Naturally my favorite topics to write about are my husband and daughter, entertaining and recipes, and being a mom. As I said in my intro blog you won’t find tips on gardening, sports commentary or ways to reduce your carbon footprint. And if you’re a regular reader you will know that in fact, those topics have never graced Ms. Elaine Kneeous.
Lots of professional mom bloggers have “Blogiversary Giveaways.” They’ll put a fabulous prize package together with all sorts of fun things. Sometimes they give store credits to etsy vendors, sometimes a camera package (for all those foodie photographers), sometimes a great new kitchen appliance like a mixer or one-cup coffee maker. Hundreds to thousands of their fans & readers enter the contest and a lucky winner is selected through a program that selects someone randomly.
Sorry. Ms. Elaine Kneeous will not be handing out a KitchenAid, Tassimo, or Dyson gizmo. But I am offering my sincere gratitude to my readers. Thank you for joining me on my journey. It’s been a fun learning experience, a creative outlet, a way to touch lives that I never would have dreamed of. Here’s to another year!
P.S. I promise, if I ever start making money at this gig, I’ll give someone a stand mixer for my blogiversary. ;-)
