This Just In ...

Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

Last week we told you about the launch of our massive new TV ad initiative launching "Not A Tax Increase" that went live in just 24 hours after the Supreme Court ruled to uphold Obama's health care law - and confirmed that it was one of the largest tax hikes we have ever faced.

We want you to know that our ad effort on TV is only a piece of a broad intense effort. We were ready for this, and in the 36 hours following the Supreme Court ruling, AFP rolled out 26 grassroots events in 18 different states around the country to deliver our message Hands Off My Health Care®. AFP is focused on educating the public about this disastrous health care take over that saddles us with a punishing tax and erodes our health care freedom.

Activists brave the heat to tell the government Hands Off My Health Care®!

AFP-Virginia launched a multi-stop Real Facts:Real Solutions bus tour hitting cities from Fairfax all the way to Virginia Beach. Between the 7 stops on the VA bus tour we had 500 activists come out to hear our message and participate in grassroots exercises.

At the tour stop in Woodbridge, Virginia on Friday night we had an overflow crowd at a pizzeria for our Hands Off My Health Care® event and toward the end a mom walked up to me with her two young children in tow (one of them had a Dallas Cowboys hat on I'm proud to report) and also her own mother. With fire in her eyes she said, "Tim, I've got three generations of our family here because no issue is bigger and no issue is more personal to us." She then went on to tell me of her youngest child's fight with a blood disorder and her mother's heart issues.

That mom was right... no issue is bigger. That's why AFP has spent so much time, talent and treasure to stop ObamaCare over the last three years. And now, at this crucial moment just four months before November, we're not backing down. No, we're putting our foot on the gas and going all out.

In addition to the 26 grassroots events being held, Americans for Prosperity also hosted three Tele-Town Hall calls where I spoke with both activists and press. Over 5,500 people joined in on these calls to ask questions on AFP's stance on the SCOTUS ruling on The Affordable Care Act.

The fight for our health care freedom is far from over, and I'm excited for the fight still to come. As I celebrate the Fourth of July on Wednesday with my wife and four kids, we'll take comfort in knowing that you and I are doing everything we can to defend the freedoms our Founding Fathers fought so hard for.
