September news from Franklin alderman Kristen Wilhelm

Dear Residents,

Here is good news from our Chief of Police and a few items of possible interest.

Kristen Wilhelm

Franklin's 3rd District

From our Chief of Police, Richard Oliva

Sent Date: September 2, 2011

Several nights ago the Shell gas station in Milwaukee at 27th & Ramsey was held up by an armed suspect. Yesterday the Cousins sub shop in Greenfield north of 27th & College was a victim of an Armed Robbery, later in the evening yesterday, the Walgreens in Milwaukee at 27th & College was held up by a man with a knife.  The suspect in all three had the same description and he had been seen running toward the 2700 block of W. College after the Cousins robbery.

Last night Franklin officers checking the area spotted the suspect in the trailer park located in our city at 27th & College.  He is a resident of the trailer park.  Our officers detained him, positively identified him through surveillance photos, and turned him over to Milwaukee and Greenfield police for arrest and prosecution.  It was just a matter of time before he would have held up a business in Franklin.  Crime prevention at its best!

Door to Door Solicitation

There has been recent solicitations for bath, door and window sales.  If you need these items (and can afford them), you probably don't need someone to convince you at your door. When a salesperson walks from door to door trying to sell a product or service to the general public they are required to be registered at City Hall. If you answer the door, ask if they are registered with the City Clerk’s office.
