This Just In ...

He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

Franklin's special guest wants tax increase Franklin rejected

Acting Milwaukee County Executive Lee Holloway is no more. The ethically-challenged Holloway has turned the reins over to former Acting Milwaukee Mayor Marvin Pratt.

That’s actually a good move. Pratt will do just fine. And I truly believe Holloway decided not to serve out the term as Acting County Executive so that if he loses (and I think he knows he will) he can keep his cushy County Board Chairman post where he can run roughshod over the rest of the supervisors that cower in fear to his intimidation.

Holloway may have surprised some with his announcement that he was giving up the acting position to someone else but his next statement certainly was pure Holloway and it’s hilarious. He’s asking Governor Walker to support a Milwaukee County sales tax increase to pay for transit. A county-wide advisory referendum barely passed 52-48% in November 2008.

Does Holloway actually think Walker would support dumping a sales tax increase on Milwaukee County residents after years of supporting 0% tax increases?

That makes Franklin Alderman Steve Taylor’s invitation to Holloway to come to Franklin to address City Hall even more ridiculous. Taylor boasted on his blog, “When I was at Governor Walker's Inauguration I ran into Acting Milwaukee County Executive Lee Holloway. I introduced myself and he immediately started talking about collaborating with local municipalities, sharing of services and the potential of shared revenue being reduced and the impact it may have. He asked if he could come to Franklin to discuss these issues.”

I’m sure at the time Taylor experienced the same feeling up or down his leg that Obama gave Chris Matthews. WOW! Lee Holloway is coming to Franklin! Never mind that Holloway cares nothing about Franklin. Heck, Holloway doesn’t care about anyone south of Wisconsin Avenue.

About that sales tax increase, Franklin voters opposed the tax hike, 54.6 – 45.4%. Lee Holloway is out of touch with Franklin residents, on this and many other issues. Therefore, it was naïve to invite Holloway to City Hall thinking our city could possibly work with him and benefit from such collaboration.

Then again, nothing Steve Taylor does surprises or impresses.

BTW, there is no truth to the rumor that Steve Taylor wants to invite Lena Tayor and Fred Kessler to a future Common Council meeting to ascertain just why they don't like the suburbs.
