Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.

Why on earth would I want to share a 10 X 17 room with a complete stranger who would probably steal my food and have nocturnal habits that would drive a vampire crazy? I’m an only child… I don’t share my space nicely. Not to mention the fact that I had some incredible pets that I certainly would miss! Looking over the “amenities” that Alverno dorm life offers, I didn’t see much to entice me to pay an even larger sum of money each semester.
So what if you are college-bound, want to stay away from home, already have your perfect roommate chosen but just can’t bear to leave Fido? Well, you are in luck! There is hope for collegiate canine lovers! Many schools offer the opportunity to bring your pet to live with you in the dorm. This blog offers another list of pet-friendly higher education institutions.
