Kevin Fischer is a veteran broadcaster, the recipient of over 150 major journalism awards from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Associated Press, the Northwest Broadcast News Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, and others. He has been seen and heard on Milwaukee TV and radio stations for over three decades. A longtime aide to state Senate Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Kevin can be seen offering his views on the news on the public affairs program, "InterCHANGE," on Milwaukee Public Television Channel 10, and heard filling in on Newstalk 1130 WISN. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their lovely baby daughter, Kyla Audrey, in Franklin.
A few weeks ago on Milwaukee Public Television’s InterCHANGE that I hosted, one of the topics (it was State Fair time) had the panel offering their suggestions for food on a stick. Before the cameras rolled, I told the panel that because it was our final topic, if by chance we went too long on the other issues, we’d just dump food on a stick.
“No!” exclaimed Denise Callaway. Joel McNally immediately chuckled. Gerard Randall mildly protested.
My friend said that he had given the topic a great deal of thought. He might have even used the word “research.”
Alright, we’ll make sure we allow enough time for discussion, I told my colleagues. Gerard’s response proved to be quite interesting, one that he was quite proud of. You take a hard-boiled egg and you wrap it with a big hunk of sausage (brat?). Then you put a stick through it. The finishing touch has the egg being dunked in some silky smooth melted
I thought of Gerard at Irish Fest today when Jennifer and I ordered our customary corned beef sandwiches at the McBob’s stand. They are highly recommended.

McBob's offers a Scotch egg on a stick (but no cheddar cheese) that I imagine goes perfect with one of the dark beers sold on the grounds.
